Let’s be honest, we all know we should be eating more veg. But it can be hard, right? So, what if we flipped the purpose of Veganuary to be less about not eating meat and more about getting more delicious veg into our diets?

That’s why each and every vegan Higgidy pie, quiche and roll is jam-packed with more delicious veg than you can shake a carrot stick at. And that’s how it will always be. Veg with a side of veg, if you will.

Our Vegan Food

More and more of us are looking to explore plant-based foods for a variety of reasons, including reducing how much meat we eat and doing our bit to help the planet. But finding where to start can be a challenge. That’s why we’re here, to be that helping hand in the kitchen, creating exciting dishes and experimenting with ingredients. From vegan fillings and oat milk in quiches, with flours like buckwheat and spelt, or toppings such as linseeds and pumpkin seeds to add texture.  

Let’s begin by taking a look at a few of our favourite vegan recipes and what makes them so special…

Chilli Bean & Sweet Potato Pie

Say hello to the newest member of the Higgidy vegan family, inspired by delicious Mexican flavours and packed full of delicious veggies. We challenge you to see if friends and family can guess that it’s vegan!

Vegan shortcrust pastry with kidney and cannellini beans, sweet potato and red peppers in a smoky paprika and chipotle chilli stew, hand-topped with a crunchy tortilla and ciabatta crumb. Not only is it packed with flavour but the tortilla and ciabatta crumb topping adds tempting textures too.

Mini No Pork Pies

Our Mini No-Pork Pies have proven particularly popular since they were launched just one year ago, in Veganuary 2021. What’s more, they even bagged a 2021 Peta Food Award for Best Vegan Pie (check us out). There’s no fake meat here, just deliciously vibrant veggies teamed with lentils and encased in a crisp vegan hot water crust pastry. Serve straight from the fridge with a dollop of piccalilli and up your Veganuary snacking game.

Spinach & Roasted Tomato Vegan Quiche

If you’re worried about missing the indulgence of a deliciously creamy quiche during Veganuary, or if you’ve never tried a quiche at all, then fear no more! Our Spinach & Roasted Tomato Vegan Quiche is packed with goodness and top-notch vegan ingredients. It was even a finalist in the World Plant Based Tate Awards 2021 (go on, you know want to give it a try!).

Seeded spelt shortcrust pastry with spinach and SunBlush® tomatoes in a creamy oat and coconut milk filling, hand-topped with roasted tomatoes and millet.

Our Vegan Recipes

Although we make prepared vegan dishes, we always continue to be inspired by clever ways of adding more veg to meals through innovative recipes and nifty tips and tricks. So much so, that a couple of years ago, Higgidy Co-Founder, Camilla, set to work writing her very own veggie cookbook, packed with recipes that celebrate veg and let it take centre-stage. It was a fascinating, eye-opening process with Camilla finding herself enjoying cooking and eating more veg than ever before. We hope we can inspire you to do the same.
