Higgidy’s Ode to Hepworth Brewery: The Eco-Friendly Ale-Makers Up the Road

Great food starts with great ingredients, and at Higgidy, we’re lucky enough to work with some of the best local suppliers around. One of our absolute favourites is Hepworth Brewery, an ecologically-friendly ale-maker located just up the road from us in Sussex.

But Hepworth Brewery is more than just a supplier to us – they’re also a partner in sustainability. When we say their ale elevates our Steak and Sussex Ale Pie to another level, we’re not joking around. It’s the perfect balance of hoppy goodness and malty richness, turning our already amazing beef and gravy into a mouth-watering masterpiece. Their tasty creations will have you feeling every emotion under the sun, it’s liquid gold that never disappoints.

Hepworth Brewery takes most of their ingredients from within Sussex, working closely with the Goodwood Estate and sourcing responsibly and organically wherever possible. In fact, almost all of their beer is gluten-free and vegan-friendly (guilt free drinking anyone?). And they’re not stopping there: they’re challenging themselves to make everything organic.

But that’s not all. Inspired by Higgidy’s commitment to sustainability, they’re on a mission to become a certified B Corp. They regularly host like-minded brewers from across the country who share their passion for producing beer that’s kind to the planet. Hepworth Brewery’s dedication to sustainable brewing practices is evident in their plan to install additional reed beds, reducing their waste water and total water usage.

As our neighbour and partner, we’re proud to support Hepworth Brewery and their commitment to sustainability. It’s not often you find a company that not only produces delicious products but also cares deeply about the environment.
