Higgidy: Celebrate Togetherness
Jack Johnson once said “Mmm, it’s always better when we’re together”, and we at Higgidy can’t help but agree. This summer we’re celebrating the joyous and chaotic reconnection of family and friends, even if those moments together aren’t entirely perfect. It might be raining, there might be tears but that’s what makes the moment more special and even more memorable. So, whether it’s a last-minute lunch or a guestlist gathering, we’re here to help make those imperfect occasions…. imperfectly delicious.
Our new campaign to celebrate that sense of unity includes not only you guys (our dedicated Higgidy fans!), but also our local communities. That’s why throughout the summer and beyond, we are supporting the small businesses at the heart of our Sussex home, highlighting different local heroes and what they do. Our first shoutout was to a local Shoreham café called Tom Foolery, just 10 mins down the road from Higgidy HQ. Take a look on our Instagram feed to find out more about Bob and Vanessa, the proud owners. We’ll also be visiting local suppliers and close foodie friends so keep your eyes peeled for videos and blog posts and remember to shout loud and proud about your local businesses too; we’re all in this together.
This summer we’re here with a wide range of big flavours packed with fresh veggies that are ideal for summer sharing. So, without further ado, here are some of our summer hero Higgidy recipes:
Spinach & Red Pepper Quiche
This is summer in quiche form, made in our south-coast kitchen with free-range eggs, vibrant red peppers, and some very fine feta from our friends in Thessaly. Lazy al-fresco lunch anyone?
Petit Pois & Courgette Quiche with a hint of mint & chilli – Vegan
This fresh, zingy little quiche is inspired by chimichurri, a South American seasoning, and is made with petit pois and courgette, delicately combined with mint, coriander, and chilli in a free-range egg filling, encased in our signature seeded vegan pastry, and hand-topped with pumpkin seeds, pea puree, and breadcrumbs
Cheddar & Chive Dinky Rolls
Mature Cheddar, Red Leicester, and creamy ricotta with chives, onion, and a hint of mustard, wrapped in all-butter puff pastry and topped with a Cheddar & parsley crumb. Yes please!
SunBlush Tomato & Cheddar Mini Muffins
These SunBlush Tomato & Cheddar Mini Muffins are a meat-free marvel, soft, savoury, and packed with veg (We sneak in grated carrot and sweet potato puree). And because the packs are resealable, they’re ideal for your summer activities. Get Partyin’.
Feta & Red Pepper Veggie Rolls
Sweet red peppers, hearty crushed chickpeas, and some serious Thessalian feta: these Feta & Red Pepper Veggie Rolls are a summertime celebration. Hand-topped with a SunBlush tomato crumb, they liven up lunches and are a pure crowd pleaser, trust us.
