Making great tasting, glorious everyday food is about more than just crafty flavour combinations and careful cooking. It’s the top-notch ingredients we use, from suppliers we know and trust, that help make our pies, quiches, rolls and muffins taste as good as they do.
At Higgidy, we always make sure that we get to know our suppliers before working with them. This ensures that not only are the ingredients the best quality that they can possibly be, but that the businesses we work share our Higgidy values too.
Here’s a little more info about our ingredients and some of our long-term suppliers, alongside a list of everyone we work with.
Many of our veggies, including our sweet potato and butternut squash, are supplied by our neighbours at Barfoots, just down the road in Chichester, West Sussex. A carbon-neutral business, their UK farms are fully powered by their own waste.
The chicken we use is free-range and comes from our good friends at family-owned business, Packington Free Range, based in Staffordshire.
All of our beef is British and our pork is reared to outdoor bred welfare standards by British farmers.
Our smoked salmon is sustainably farmed by responsible fisheries both in the UK and overseas.
The palm oil we use is RSPO approved, fully segregated sustainable palm oil. This means it comes from a responsible source that adheres to strict controls on manufacture and can be traced back to the mill it came from.
